Hello Everyone, Today I have for you my last entry, in which I will discuss with you how this course has reshaped my knowledge in Second Language Acquisition. Enjoy! Coming into this course, I thought I had a pretty good understanding of what Second Language Acquisition was all about. Towards the beginning of the semester I had this idea we would be learning methods in which can help teachers guide and assist their students who are English language learners. However, that was not the case. My peers and I soon came to realize that what we had in mind, was actually Second Language Methodology, not Acquisition. It was actually not until this last blog (vblog 3) when it was finally a major eye opener on what exactly this course really meant. Hi Everyone, Welcome back! For this entry, I decided to interview Ms. Lopez. Ms. Lopez is a 3 rd grade teacher at Morton Ranch Elementary. She is also my mentor teacher. Ms. Lopez is within a departmentalized classroom, meaning she only teaches Math, Science, and Social Studies. Ms. Lopez is also monolingual and ESL certified. For students whose first language was not English, it can be a challenge trying to complete some of the coursework that is expected amongst all students.
